An eerie game for teens and up

Five Nights at Freddy's is a horror game that's surprisingly terrifying due to the nature of the animatronic puppets that are hunting you down. You start the game as a security guard in a fast-food eatery that's filled with decommissioned dolls. As the game progresses, there'll be plenty of jumpscares and an eerie atmosphere.

Animatronic puppets come to life

Five Nights at Freddy's is a fun horror game that isn't suitable for young kids. The title delivers many jumpscares and a chilling atmosphere thanks to its visuals and eerie sounds.

There are no future updates planned for the game as it has multiple sequels and spin-offs made due to the popularity of Freddy Fazbear and friends. The title does show its age, but it has aged well, fitting in pixelated parts and well models characters.

The game has minimal system requirements and can run on almost any computer as long as you have Windows XP or later as your operating system.

Parental guidance advised

FNAF1 may deceive you with its appealing graphics and gameplay, but it is not recommended for young children due. The game has many jumpscares and takes place in a pizza restaurant with animatronic robots; however, these puppets will hunt you down at night.

Five Nights has many jumpscares waiting for you from the moment you start the game. You’ll immediately know when a character makes it into your office as you recoil from your screen due to the jumpscare. Images of the puppet are suddenly displayed followed by an alarming shriek.

Spooky sounds

The atmosphere in the game sends shivers down your spine as you slowly progress through each night trying to stay safe. When using the security cameras, you'll hear them hiss and crackle, as well as the eerie sound of footsteps in passages outside your office.

Fan-loved character

The cast of FNAF is extremely popular as many characters such as Chica, Foxy, and Freddy Fazbear can be seen throughout any spin-off and sequels. The design of these animatronic puppets causes feelings of repulsion as they appear to be a mixture of real and fake, sometimes torn up and damaged.

Is Five Nights at Freddy’s scary?

While the game is not the scariest game in the world it can and will still send you jumping back from your screen. The dated but stylish graphics only add to the spookiness and horror that appears on your monitor. Additionally, this game is a classic for any fan of the series due to it being the first of many FNAF titles.

What’s the Point?

You start the game with little instructions or information, only a recorded message from an ex-employee that starts the tale of FNAF by warning you about the dangers of your job. You'll have to use the 11 security cameras to watch for any movement from the four animatronics. If you see any movement, you'll want to switch lights on to prevent them from taking your life.

However, using the cameras or lights will drain the electricity, something you only have a set amount of. You'll have to complete the nightshift without power reaching zero or one of the animatronics devouring your brain and placing you in a costume.
